The call aims to develop and implement six European Advanced Digital Skills Competitions designed to engage young Europeans with cutting-edge digital technologies, including Quantum Computing, Generative AI, Chips, Virtual Worlds, the Destination Earth initiative, and one additional area defined by the consortium. These competitions will focus on real-world societal or industrial challenges, promoting creativity, applied research, innovation, and project-based learning among students while connecting them to leading research institutions and industry partners across Europe.
The project will involve designing well-defined, relevant challenges, creating a comprehensive competitions rulebook, and developing a detailed implementation roadmap, including both local and major tournaments. A key goal is to maximize student participation, enhance skills development, and raise awareness of teamwork and applied research. The consortium will also establish attractive prize schemes and ensure the sustainability of the competitions beyond the project’s duration.
Collaboration with Sectoral Digital Skills Academies, the Destination Earth initiative, and relevant industrial communities is central to the project, as is coordination with the European League of Advanced Digital Skills Academies for dissemination, communication, and outreach. Synergies with other relevant initiatives, such as the Digital Education Hackathon, will be sought to further amplify impact and engagement across the EU.
