Objective:
Support small groups of 2 to 4 Principal Investigators (PIs) to collaboratively tackle ambitious, high-impact research challenges that cannot be addressed by individual teams alone. The funded projects should enable major advances through interdisciplinary approaches, novel methods, or unconventional ideas, potentially setting global benchmarks in their fields.

Key Features:

• Projects must demonstrate groundbreaking ambition, feasibility, and the capacity of the PI group to address complex scientific questions.

• One PI acts as Corresponding Principal Investigator.

• Up to one PI (except the Corresponding PI) can be based outside the EU or Associated Countries during the grant.

Funding:

• Grants up to €10 million for a duration of up to 6 years (pro-rated for shorter projects).

• Additional funding up to €4 million may be requested for major equipment, start-up costs, or other eligible expenses, with justification.

Applicant Profile:

• The consortium must include 2–4 PIs with strong competitive records and their teams.

• Each PI must provide a CV and track record appropriate to their career stage.
