Eurostars call for projects – March 2026
Programme Overview:
- Part of the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs, co-funded by the EU through Horizon Europe.
- Supports international collaborative R&D and innovation projects led by innovative SMEs.
Eligible Applicants:
- Innovative SMEs must lead the project consortium.
- Consortia must include at least two independent partners from Eurostars countries, which can include universities, research organisations, and large companies.
- SMEs must contribute at least 50% of the total project budget.
Project Requirements:
- Projects must focus on civil applications.
- Duration: maximum 36 months.
- Aim: develop commercially viable products, processes, or services with high innovation potential.
Application Process:
- Online submission via the Eurostars platform: 16 January-19 March 2026.
- Applicants must meet both international and national eligibility criteria.
- Required documents include financial annexes, SME declarations, and technical descriptions.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Excellence: innovation, technical challenge, and feasibility.
- Impact: market potential, commercialisation plans, societal and economic benefits.
- Quality of implementation: consortium strength, project management, and cost structure.
Timeline & Funding:
- Eligibility, legal, and financial checks, followed by independent expert review and panel ranking.
- Funding is allocated and managed by each country’s national funding body.
- Funding agreements expected 5-7 months after submission deadline.
