The Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) is launching the Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme to support excellent postdoctoral researchers in carrying out research at host institutions running a “Lendület” Momentum research group. The programme aims to increase the international visibility and prestige of the Momentum initiative, as well as its European and global impact. Fellowships are offered for a preferred duration of 36 months, with a minimum of 12 months, including mandatory international secondments, and will start on 1 September, 1 November, or 1 December 2026.

The programme is open to researchers of any nationality in all scientific fields covered by participating host groups – including Humanities and Social Sciences, Life Sciences, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree by the application deadline, must not have resided or worked in Hungary for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the call, and cannot already be employed at a participating host institution. Special attention will be given to applications from women and researchers with refugee status.

The Momentum MSCA Programme offers extensive training, mentoring, and coaching in research-specific, business-specific, and transferable skills, aiming to enhance fellows’ employability and versatility in academia and beyond. Applicants must submit a complete application in English via the electronic submission portal by 31 January 2026. The fellowship includes a non-refundable remuneration package and administrative support from the MTA Secretariat.
