Standardisation landscape analyses tool (CSA) HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-HUMAN-61
Objective:
To develop an open-access information tool providing a comprehensive overview of the standardisation landscape at national, European, and international levels. This tool should include a search function for relevant standards, supporting research and innovation (R&I) actors in efficiently identifying applicable standards to avoid duplication and enhance market relevance and scalability of R&I results. The tool should also automatically update standards where possible.
Background:
Standards are crucial for the EU Single Market, ensuring product safety, functionality, interoperability, and alignment with policy and legal goals (e.g., European Green Deal, Digital Decade). State-of-the-art standards facilitate global market access. However, current standardisation information is fragmented, and there is no centralised database, making it difficult for researchers and innovators to access and integrate standards effectively. The multiplicity of standard development organisations with different processes leads to duplicated efforts and confusion.
Scope:
The project aims to create a landscape analysis tool to help all R&I stakeholders identify and use existing standards as key inputs for their projects. Aligning with international and European standards and industrial consortia is essential to maximize acceptance and reduce redundancy.
Requirements:
The project should be led by experts representing industry, academia, and standardisation bodies to ensure broad stakeholder representation and effectiveness.
