Tackling Diarrhoeal Diseases in the context of Climate and Health HORIZON-JU-GH-EDCTP3-2025-04-CH-01-two-stage

This call focuses on tackling diarrhoeal diseases (DDs) in the context of climate change, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, where DDs remain a leading cause of child mortality and malnutrition. Rising temperatures and extreme weather events are increasing the incidence and spread of these diseases, making urgent the need for targeted interventions.

Expected Outcome:
Projects must generate late-stage clinical data for novel or existing treatments or diagnostics for key DD pathogens (e.g. rotavirus, cholera, shigella). Additional outcomes may include implementation research with standard care (e.g. vaccines) or evidence on vulnerable populations and climate-related risk factors.

Scope:
Proposals should focus on sub-Saharan Africa and may include clinical trials, implementation research, and integration of cross-sectoral aspects like nutrition or WASH. Community and stakeholder engagement is essential, and proposals should detail regulatory and access strategies. Projects must include strong African leadership and partnerships, and participation in broader knowledge-sharing activities is encouraged.

Benyújtási határidő: 2025. 09. 02.
