Integrated approaches for remanufacturing (Made in Europe Partnership) (IA) – HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-TWIN-TRANSITION-01
This call aims to boost the European manufacturing industry’s remanufacturing capacity by doubling the volume of remanufactured components compared to 2021, fostering circularity, and supporting skills development and standards for remanufacturing. Proposals should demonstrate innovative remanufacturing technologies and processes, including disassembly, quality control, AI-driven data management, and integration with circular value chains, while considering product design for circularity and compliance with EU regulations like the Ecodesign framework. The projects are expected to include comprehensive business models addressing the entire remanufacturing lifecycle, promote decarbonisation, and encourage collaboration with existing initiatives and international partners, particularly Japan and Taiwan.
Expected Outcome:
The manufacturing industry should benefit from the following outcomes:
- Enable an industrial ecosystem[1] to double the volume of remanufactured components in the Union, compared to 2021, for the sectors and products considered;
- Stimulate new synergies for circularity in manufacturing industries;
- Increase significantly the capability in Europe to implement remanufacturing technologies for retaining, reusing, upgrading or adapting the function of products and components;
- Support skills and education capabilities for remanufacturing; and
- Support the development or revision of standards to better support remanufacturing.
These outcomes are also expected to benefit downstream applications in the net-zero industries.
