About us

The Grant Office is an independent organisational unit supporting the operations of Obuda University (OU); it assists with identifying, preparing and submitting applications for domestic, European Union and other international grants, as well as supporting the implementation of projects from the establishment of the funding agreement through to the conclusion of the project and maintenance periods.

The office is led by the Head of Grant Office appointed by the rector, and its professional operations are aligned with the institution’s strategy by the Vice Rector for Scientific Coordination. The Office serves as the central coordinating body for all of the University’s R&D and innovation projects, as well as its key grants for education, institutional, and infrastructure development.

The primary responsibilities of the Grants Office relate to the submission of grant applications, the implementation of projects, and the monitoring and record-keeping of project implementation and maintenance. Within this framework, the Grant Office monitors funding opportunities at the university level, both domestically and internationally; supports the preparation and submission of grant applications and manages institutional registrations; supports project implementation; maintains communication with donors; prepares grant and consortium agreements; monitors the professional and financial progress of projects, the fulfilment of project obligations and indicators, and the use of the funding, while providing advisory support and financial controlling. At the university-wide level, it maintains records of grant and project activities and provides related information. With the Rector’s approval – primarily for university-wide projects – it performs project management tasks, including coordinating and managing the EKÖP and Sports Scholarship Programs, and actively participates in the development of university regulations, processes, and procedures related to project implementation.
