Xecs
The Xecs Call 5 is a European funding opportunity designed to support collaborative Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) projects in the field of Electronic Components and Systems (ECS). It operates under the Eureka network and is aligned with the ECS Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The goal of the call is to stimulate technological advancement, foster cross-border partnerships, and encourage the development of high-impact, cutting-edge solutions that serve both industry and society.
The call follows a structured, two-stage process:
-
Project Outline (PO) – a concise proposal to assess the project’s strategic fit and gather initial feedback.
-
Full Project Proposal (FPP) – a detailed plan submitted by selected consortia, elaborating how the project will achieve its goals.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to engage with national Public Authority Representatives early to ensure alignment with national funding priorities and rules, as each country may have specific criteria. Project consortia are typically composed of multiple partners from different countries and sectors (industry, SMEs, research organizations, etc.).
Support is offered throughout all phases of the process – from idea development and partner matchmaking (via tools like the AENEAS Events Platform and ECS Collaboration Tool), to proposal writing, evaluation, and project management. Once selected, projects receive ongoing guidance, including help with reporting, impact summaries, and visibility through dissemination activities.
Xecs emphasizes impact, innovation, and collaboration, aiming to bring transformative ECS technologies from concept to market through coordinated European cooperation.
