AI-Powered Robotics for Real-World Applications

The EIG CONCERT-Japan Joint Call 2026, titled “AI-Powered Robotics for Real-World Applications,” supports international collaborative research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and robotics. The call focuses on developing adaptive, autonomous, and intelligent robotic systems that can operate effectively in dynamic, unstructured, and human-centered real-world environments. The overall goal is to create practical technological solutions to important societal challenges.

The programme brings together funding organisations from Japan and several European countries, including Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Türkiye, and Japan itself. Participating institutions include national research councils, ministries, and innovation agencies such as Japan’s JST, France’s ANR, Germany’s BMFTR, and Hungary’s NRDIO.

To apply, each project consortium must include at least three eligible partners: one from Japan and two from different participating European countries. Additional European partners may also join if they can demonstrate independent external funding to support their participation.

To help researchers form consortia, the organisers provide a Partner Search Tool called Partfinder.

Applicants with questions can contact the EIG CONCERT-Japan Programme Secretariat or their national contact points. Relevant documents, including the Call Text, Applicant Guidelines, and Project Description Template, are available on the official call website.
