LIFE 2026 – Technical assistance calls
The three LIFE 2026 technical assistance calls under the EU LIFE Programme aim to support the preparation of large-scale strategic environmental, climate, and nature projects across Europe. They do not fund full project implementation, but instead provide assistance for developing high-quality proposals for Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs) and Strategic Nature Projects (SNAPs), which are expected to later be submitted for full LIFE funding.
LIFE-2026-TA-PP-CLIMA-SIP, focuses on climate-related Strategic Integrated Projects. It supports public authorities and project developers in preparing projects that will help implement national or regional climate strategies, particularly in the areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation. The purpose is to ensure that future SIPs are well-designed and aligned with EU climate objectives.
LIFE-2026-TA-PP-ENV-SIP, targets environmental Strategic Integrated Projects. It provides technical assistance for the development of projects that implement broader environmental policies and plans, such as those related to the circular economy, resource efficiency, waste management, pollution reduction, water management, and biodiversity protection. The aim is to help applicants turn strategic environmental plans into mature, fundable project proposals.
LIFE-2026-TA-PP-NAT-SNAP, is dedicated to Strategic Nature Projects. It supports the preparation of large-scale biodiversity and nature conservation initiatives, helping stakeholders design projects that contribute to the implementation of nature protection and restoration strategies. This includes actions related to habitat restoration, ecosystem management, and biodiversity conservation at national or regional level.
