RIS Education Open Call 2027

The EIT Urban Mobility RIS Education Open Call 2027 aims to support educational projects that strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable urban mobility across the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries. The call seeks high-quality, scalable initiatives that reach broad audiences, create lasting impact, and contribute to the development of innovation ecosystems and entrepreneurial skills.

The call is organised around five activity areas (RISE1–RISE5):

  • RISE1: Capacity building in innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • RISE2: Education and training activities in urban mobility.
  • RISE3: Organisation of winter and summer schools.
  • RISE4: Scaling up successful local, regional, and national initiatives.
  • RISE5: Network building among educational stakeholders.

The total indicative budget for the call is €2.6 million. Maximum EIT funding per project is €300,000 for RISE1 and RISE2, €180,000 for RISE3 (up to €90,000 per edition), €140,000 for RISE4, and €70,000 for RISE5.

The call is open to all eligible legal entities established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe associated countries, including universities, research organisations, SMEs, start-ups, cities, and other organisations, regardless of whether they are existing EIT Urban Mobility partners. Applicants are expected to have relevant expertise in capacity building, innovation, entrepreneurship, or urban mobility. Both single-applicant and consortium proposals are eligible, provided that at least one partner (or the sole applicant) is established in a RIS country. Projects involving only one country must demonstrate a clear pan-European dimension.

EIT Urban Mobility encourages proposals that integrate the knowledge triangle-education, research, and industry-while actively involving cities in the design and implementation of activities.

Applications must be submitted through the EIT Urban Mobility Programmes Portal (NetSuite) under the RIS Education 2nd Open Call BP26-28.
